SnapStacks™
In partnership with Spears Enterprises, Corbin Custom Design has developed innovative velocity stack kits. These kits include rigid nylon velocity stacks and cast urethane intake boots.
What’s a velocity stack? Well, when tuning vehicles to get the maximum performance out of an engine, all sorts of modifications are often made to the exhaust, cylinder head, pistons, air filter, etc. However, the intake funnels (velocity stacks) which direct air from the airbox into the throttle bodies are often overlooked. While there are many aftermarket velocity stack products out there, they generally do not account for the increased air turbulence entering the throttle bodies that often occurs when the OEM components are replaced with much shorter, freer flowing components.
SnapStacks™ incorporate ribs which promote smooth, laminar flow of air into the throttle bodies. Our dyno testing has shown these ribs to add significant performance benefit over the same velocity stacks without ribs.
To make the customer experience as streamlined as possible, we didn’t stop at creating the funnel portion of the velocity stacks…we also created custom intake boots that connect the velocity stacks to the throttle bodies. This allows the customer to simply replace the stock boots and prevents the need for tricky cutting or modifications. Once the custom boots are installed, the new velocity stacks simply snap into place. As an added benefit, customers can request custom length velocity stack parts if they wish to tune for specific race tracks or environmental conditions.
Snapstacks kits are currently available for the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Ninja 400, and Yamaha R3. Kits for the Suzuki SV650 and additional motorcycles are under development and should be available soon. Please visit Spears Enterprises to purchase your kit today!
